 Summary

 

Sales Consultant will be responsible for growing and closing all business opportunities pertaining to new & existing accounts and generate revenue through a consultative selling process.  Performance will be measured in the following areas:  (1), Account retention and growth, (2) New client acquisition and (3) Client satisfaction.

Essential Functions

 Account Retention and Growth:

Participate in the execution of the team’s strategic plan as it relates to account penetration & account retention.

  • Identify, plan and execute growth & retention efforts to attain monthly, quarterly and annual budget goals
  • Lead, drive and accomplish proactive growth and retention efforts for the reseller division
  • Engage in cross-sell, up-sell efforts that result in account growth
  • Participate in executing strategic plan for account growth & retention
  • Effectively resolve client issues

 Measurement: 

  • Demonstrate year over year growth within existing client database
  • Monthly goal attainment
  • Establish a sales/service plan for clients based on their product lines/business divisions and communicate to VP of Sales and support team, including notations in contact management system (GM)
  • Complete or route counts & orders to appropriate persons in a timely manner, according to divisional standards

New Client Acquisition:

Lead, drive and accomplish proactive new client acquisition efforts for the team.  Ensure that new acquisition goals are in line with overall business strategy.

  • Responsible for attaining new client acquisition goals
  • Work with divisional leader to formulate strategic plan for new business development
  • Participate in weekly top opportunity communications
  • Track and update efforts in corporate contact management system (Goldmine)

Measurement: 

  • Achieve new accounts on a monthly basis through active referral pursuit
  • Participate in monthly account reviews with VP of Sales

Client Satisfaction:

Possess ability to make recommendations that will improve quality, marketability and increase service levels and/or profitability. Provide customer service that clearly and consistently creates a competitive advantage

  • Possess thorough knowledge of company policies, practices, procedures and workflow expectations.
  • Possess thorough technical ability with count systems including compiler policies & procedures.
  • Actively solicit account needs & concerns and respond with effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Keep up with new developments in the industry to ensure that recommendations are current and consistent with industry trends
  • Possess the ability to act with unyielding integrity in all business transactions
  • Ensure that work is completed thoroughly, accurately and in a timely manner

  • Meet established deadlines and commitments on a consistent basis

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position.  Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Travel

This position does not typically require travel.

Required Education and Experience

  • 3 years of successful account management experience or customer service experience
  • Proven ability to take existing accounts to a higher level and expand business profiles to create partnership opportunities
  • Successful direct marketing sales experience
  • Proven abilities for identifying new business opportunities
  • Ability to create proposals and deliver presentations
  • Computer literacy; must display proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel
  • Ability to work independently within team environment
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • BA/BS in advertising, marketing or business preferred
